My Story

My name is Satoko Otsu, and I was born and raised in Japan. I lived in the US and Hong Kong for nearly 15 years where I first started my cooking class, private chef dining concept, catering and weekly meal service.

My cooking concept is to “Create a tasty, easy and convenient way to make Japanese home cooked food using local products available in Switzerland.” All my recipes are based on my mother's traditional cooking combined with my twist of modern Japanese cuisine.

Growing up in a traditional Japanese household, it was important to cook with fresh and seasonal ingredients for our daily meals. My mother prepares at least 4-8 different types of Japanese small dishes/tapas for our family dinner, and her goal was to use 30 different ingredients each day, providing a diverse nutrition plan. I try to recreate the same philosophy adjusted to the busy lifestyle of people in Switzerland.

This childhood experience formed my passion for cooking, and to share our beautiful Japanese traditional and modern home food recipes to everyone.

I am here for everyone who is interested in learning the way to cook an authentic Japanese home food, beyond Sushi.
